Spell of Subtlety

Grand Teton National Park, WY

Autumn is a quiet time of year in the Grand Tetons. The hordes of summer tourists are gone and ski season has yet to begin. Water levels can be notoriously low in the mountains, and after 3 days of backpacking, I returned to this scene in Granite Canyon that captured my attention earlier in the trip. The sometimes prolific foliage and wonderful water and rocks hidden deep in the park's multitude of canyons, are not its most distinguishing feature, but these intimate moments are beautiful nonetheless.
