Fish Slough Wilderness Study Area, CA
Beautiful afternoon clouds dapple light near the White Mountains and Bishop, California on a stormy afternoon in the remote Fish Slough volcanic tablelands amid copious white-stemmed stickleaf. This high desert mountain range is home to the oldest living trees in the world: the ancient bristlecone pines. The range is anchored at the north end by the highest peak in the State of Nevada, Boundary Peak. Photo © copyright by Michael Greene.
