A spectacular midday scene near the PCT overlooking Thousand Island Lake deep in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Yosemite National Park and Lee Vining California. Pictured in the background is 13,149-foot Mount Ritter the highest peak in Madera County. Sadly a teen lost his life in the weeks after this image while swimming in this lake's frigid waters.
