Weminuche Wilderness, CO
An intimate look at Vallecito Creek near the southwestern most terminus of the Weminuche Wilderness. The aptly named Vallecito Creek Trail follows this watershed for more than 20 miles into the heart of one of the deepest wildernesses in the lower 48. Of the first six or so miles that I traveled, this scene spoke to me the most as it was in a tight gorge that accentuated the color of the water. This vantage point was not visible from the trail and required quite a bit of down climbing to access. Photo © copyright by Michael Greene.
