Rock Hopping
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Yellowstone Lake, the largest lake in North American above 7500 feet, is pictured here during some of its lowest water levels of the year. This image was captured in the fall, about 1/2 hour before a massive blizzard engulfed the lake in a whiteout. I was attracted to this scene by the dramatic skies, snowcapped mountains, and liked the spacing of the exposed rocks in the lake and how my eye followed them back and forth across the water.
